Trainees and Apprentices

Recruiting and training new people to become our future leaders is an important part of our plans to grow the business. So if you’re interested in an engineering career, we’ll give you the chance to gain qualifications and practical experience on live projects while getting paid a good salary into the bargain. And when you finish your initial training, you’ll have excellent career prospects and the potential to develop into one of our future managers.

Delivered in conjunction with Network Rail, your first year will be spent living with your fellow apprentices at HMS Sultan in Gosport, Hampshire – Europe’s largest specialist engineering facility. At the end of this year you’ll receive a BTEC National Award in Engineering, Performing Engineering Operations NVQ Level 2, and Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) at Level 2. You’ll then move to one of our work sites where a mix of work experience and short courses will help you gain a Rail Engineering NVQ Level 3 qualification. You’ll also be given the opportunity to study for higher qualifications.

You must have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) with grades A-C to include Maths, English and Science and a commitment and flexibility for this type of scheme.

This opportunity is now closed. However, if you would like to register your interest in the scheme please click here
