My Career
What made you join Balfour Beatty? I was recruited to Balfour Beatty’s Graduate Training scheme in September 2006 after gaining a B.Eng degree in Mechanical Engineering and a MSc Engineering at Liverpool University. I thought it was a good career opportunity because Balfour Beatty is a leading engineering company with a global operation that will open up career opportunities and develop my business skills. I am also working towards being a Chartered Engineer.
What does your current role involve? Track renewals all over the South East.
What job skills do you have to contribute to your work? Time management and organisational skills. Also, following the development schedule requires self discipline.
Best/worst parts of your job? The best – learning something new each day. The worst – none yet.
Are you involved in any social activities through your work? I have attended graduate induction events held by BB Rail, and Balfour Beatty Group.
What trait(s) do you admire in co-workers? Team work, good communications and an ability to meet deadlines.
What did you want to be when you were growing up? Older.
What would you like to be doing in five years’ time? I’d like to be enjoying whatever job I’m doing then as much as I enjoy the job I have now.
Sum up your feelings to the company/ your role or career choice. Balfour Beatty is a company of global opportunity. |
