What made you join Balfour Beatty?

What does your current role involve?
I manage subcontractors’ valuations and payments, variations to subcontracts, subcontract liabilities and forecasts, final accounts, project costs, contractual issues and use various other general quantity surveying skills.
Best/worst parts of your job?
The best part of my job is that every day is as a busy one. I have a great team and there is never a dull moment in our department. The worst part is that things can be a little repetitive at times. However, being in a good working environment takes the edge off that.
Are you involved in any social activities through your work?
Not yet, although I’ll probably join the football team in the near future.
Best career advice you have been given?
Always give your best and aim higher; you never know what the future holds for you. Never miss an opportunity.
What trait(s) do you admire in co-workers?
Being welcoming, hard working, committed and easy going.
What would you like to be doing in five years’ time?
I would like to be chartered by then and be managing very big projects. I would also like to have moved up a few steps up my career ladder.
